• My grandparents owned The Java Jive (a building shaped like a two story coffee pot, featured in movies (one with Keanu Reeves & River Phoenix, and also Say Anything) in Tacoma.

• I’m an advance scuba diver and I’ve had my air tank malfunction 120ft below the surface of The Blue Hole while surrounded by sharks.

• My great, great, great grandparents were a S'Klallam Native and a historic first settler and saloon owner who fell in love on the shores of Port Townsend in Washington State.
